County seeks applicants to serve on Jetport Advisory Board

Post Date:04/10/2024 7:30 AM

The Airport Advisory Board for the Doña Ana County International Jetport at Santa Teresa seeks three new members to serve on the seven-member body.  Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. Friday, May 17.

Board members work closely with the Jetport Manager, County Engineer, planning director and a representative of the County Attorney’s Office to identify safety, growth, development or administration issues relevant to the airport.

Selected applicants will fulfill a three-year term which will run from July 1 through June 20, 2027. The Board serves staggered terms, meets monthly and periodically reports to the Board of County Commissioners, recommends changes or informs about upcoming challenges and opportunities in the airport’s operations or administration.

All Airport Advisory Board meetings comply with the New Mexico Open Meetings Act, which means they are open to the public and the agendas for regular and special meetings are available to the public, at least 72 hours prior to each meeting. They are posted on the County’s website.

Applicants must reside in Doña Ana County or El Paso and the application includes an interest in serving, knowledge of aviation and airport issues, along with the applicant’s qualifications to serve. Licensed pilots are encouraged to apply.

To request an application, please call Doña Ana County International Jetport Manager William Provance at (575) 644-2358 or email him, at williamp@basilinfracon.com. The application is also available County’s website, in the Jetport’s page.
