A Word from the 评估员

Dear Property Owner,

1月1日起, 2004 New Mexico law requires the disclosure of residential sales information to the 县评估员. This must be accomplished by filing a notarized affidavit at the 评估员's Office within 30 days of the date of filing a deed, real estate contract or memorandum of real estate contract with the County 职员.

The information will be used for statistical and analytical purposes and will help us determine fair market value of all properties. It will also help ensure fair and equitable property tax assessments for all taxpayers throughout our county. All information collected is required to be kept confidential with the 评估员's office, and will not be made available as public information.

There are limited exceptions for some residential transactions. Please refer to the back page of the affidavit under: 7-38-12.1 - D (1 through 16).

Failure to comply with the law could result in a conviction of a misdemeanor and punishable by the imposition of a fine of not more than one thousand dollars.

My staff and I are available to answer any questions regarding the law, or to provide free notary service for this purpose. My office is located at 845 N. 汽车旅馆大街. 在拉斯克鲁塞斯. You can also contact us by telephone at 575-647-7400 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. 到5点.m., except on holidays.

Thank you for your cooperation.

真诚地,

Eugenia (Gina) Montoya Ortega
